Fellow friends and supporters of Castaways

Little did we think, as the curtain came down on A Christmas Carol, that five months later we would be unable to move about freely and do the things that we normally do in our selected hobby.

With the current situation still unclear, it’s impossible for us to say with any certainty how or when things will return to a point where not only can we rehearse and mount a new show but you, our viewing public, are happy to come and see us.

It’s no surprise that our AGM has been postponed  but be assured that the existing committee is still in place and although not as active as usual we are keen to plan for the next event as soon as circumstances permit.

There is a certain wartime sense about all of this – not that any of us can really recollect that era, but we’ve all seen the plays – the sense of community in adversity and a feeling that just maybe  the world will be a better place in the end.

At the end of the tunnel we will all need to be more sociable, have gatherings and be entertained.  Castaways will play it’s part in that and as soon as we can see our way through we will let you know the what and the when.

Stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all in person again
